5 Reasons to visit Germany

If you haven’t ever been to Germany, then you are missing out on a lot! Germany is an amazing place to visit and has something for everyone!

Below are 5 reasons that we think Germany is worth a visit:

1) The Locals

2) The Autobahn!

Driving a German car is an amazing experience in itself. Driving it on the Autobahn is even more amazing!

It is true that there are not as many stretches as there used to be where speed limits don’t apply, however, there are still several sections where this is the case. The official speed limit —where it applies— is 80 mph, so you can still go faster than in most other countries.

5) The National Parks!

Living in Lake George it isn’t that easy to impress me with typical natural parks and landscapes. However, Germany has some incredible places!

It may seem strange for a site that focuses on Lake George and Upstate NY to insist on visiting Germany, however, there are several reasons that we decided to include Germany on our list of places to write about.

The German influence in the Lake George area can be seen and felt everywhere. From the architecture of some of the old estates on the lake to the local food and last names of many locals.

The whether and geography of Lake George is also somewhat reminiscent of parts of Germany.

We hope this has motivated you, but of course we would like to motivate you to come to Lake George also!

We have a great Oktoberfest celebration!
